While most of today’s youth are familiar with Michael Rapaport for his social media video rants against Donald Trump supporters and Lonzo Ball, we older heads know the man for his roles in cult classics like John Singleton’s Higher Learning, Zebra Head, and his overall affinity for Hip-Hop music.
This week the OG actor stopped by the Breakfast Club to talk Hip-Hop, his disdain for Donald Trump and the Trump cult, and why he’s not happy with Jay-Z’s 4:44 album.
Here are the 9 things we learned from Michael Rapaport on The Breakfast Club.
1. Donald Trump
Before Trump being elected Michael Rapaport says he “never cared or thought twice about politics ever – at all” and says “Trump and his whole crew – his wife, his kids, his daughters – they’re all guilty as far as I’m concerned.”
2. “Crackers”
When Michael talks refers to white people as “crackers” he says he’s talking about “the flavorless, unseasoned bland chicken, the rebranded, racist mother*ckers” that voted for Donald Trump.
3. Animal President
Michael became convinced that Donald Trump was an “animal” and a “savage” when he witnessed Donald rant at an Alabama rally for an hour and a half without breaking a sweat or even taking a sip of water. That is kind of disturbing.
4. Hoop Dreams
His NBA aspirations kept Michael from drinking, smoking and even chasing girls when he was growing up. Once he got to the age where he had to go up against them 6’5 and above heads he realized he probably wasn’t made to ball.
5. Change of Life
Michael got into acting and performing after catching a bad one in Brooklyn from some “bad people” and his father told him he was scared Michael would end up getting shot.
6. Higher Learning
Speaking about the cult classic Higher Learning, Michael remembers that Tupac was supposed to play Omar Epp’s character, Leonardo DiCaprio was supposed to play his student turned Nazi character, and he was going to play the older nazi who turned him. But Pac getting arrested kept the studio from financing the film. So changes obviously were made.
7. 4:44
Michael’s beef with Jay-Z’s 4:44 is that “there’s no bangers on it!” and even went on to say “it’s like a Floetry record!” (Tupac voice) Blasphemy!
8. White Power
In the spirit of Eminem’s slander of Donald Trump, Michael feels more white people like Aaron Rogers, Kristaps Porzingis, George Clooney, and Leonardo DiCaprio should use their stature to also speak up against Donald Trump. Good luck with that, man.
9. Beef With LeBron
Rapaport’s beef with LeBron stems from an incident in which his kids approached LeBron for a dap and LBJ turned his back to them and kept it moving. That’s enough for any proud father to get mad at another man to be honest.
