Cafeteria Worker Arrested After Punching 8-Year-old In Mouth At School
A Pennsylvania man was arrested after punching am 8-year-old in the mouth.
According to published reports 18-year-old Jorge Alvarado-Barbosa was working in the cafeteria when he allegedly punched a third grader during a physical altercation on the grounds of Chester Community Charter School.
Police state that Barbosa was caught on tape outside the school grabbing the 8-year-old from behind to restrain him, it was off camera that authorities say that Barbosa struck the child in the mouth.
“Such behavior by teachers or employees is wholly unacceptable at Chester Community Charter School, no matter the severity,” Chester Community Charter School CEO Steven E. Lee wrote in an e-mail.
“In all probability, he will be terminated within 24 hours.”
Barbosa was arrested on charges of aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment; the child’s father stated that Barbosa was out of line for striking his child.
“I don’t understand what would register in his mind and make him think its okay,” the boy’s father said. “But that’s the nature of people today.”
