Police in Brazil are still searching for a motive in the case of Rogerio Damascena, the groom who shot and killed his bride-to-be, best man and himself at his wedding.
Authorities report that Damascena interrupted the ceremony Saturday to tell guests that he had a “surprise” for them before pulling out a weapon and opening fire.
Witnesses report that the groom, 29, did not give any previous indication that anything was wrong at his wedding but police believe the murders were premeditated because of the groom’s announcement and because he had hidden a gun in his father’s pickup truck.
The bride Renata Alexandre Costa Coelho, 25, and the best man Marcelo Guimaraes were both killed in Saturday’s murder-suicide.
A brother of the bride was treated at a hospital and released.
