Reps for Carmelo Anthony have confirmed that the Denver Nugget is in mourning after his sister passed away Wednesday.
Michelle Anthony, 36, is believed to have died from a preexisting medical condition not disclosed to the public.
Anthony was a mother of 4 and a Baltimore, Maryland resident.
Carmelo was in San Antonio when he heard the news and left immediately to be with his family.
The Nuggets have released a statement on her passing saying,
“Our entire organization supports Carmelo during this difficult time for him and his family. It is heartbreaking news, particularly during the holiday season.”
