Bad choices continue to haunt everyone involved with Ghost or Angela. Relive their path to the ultimate struggle in this latest episode of Power.
Ghost isn’t pleased with Tommy arriving late to their rendezvous, especially because of Teresi. Tommy makes an urgent request to move money and eliminate the Jiminez because Mitic isn’t going to be patiently waiting for his money. Kanan is eager to suggest getting helped from the newly released Teresi. Ghost screams on Tommy for withholding information from him and potentially compromising their business. Ghost wants Tommy to take care of the Jiminez problem WITHOUT Teresi.
Ghost knows Tommy won’t follow the plan, and so does Kanan. They discuss how to get Teresi out of the picture without harming Tommy. Kanan suggests they kill Teresi, but Ghost has a plan to make Tommy toxic to the Italians and keep everyone alive.
This gives Kanan the opportunity to enact another phase of his plan to overthrow Tommy. He hires hitters to fake a drive-by on the Italians in an attempt to scare them and encourage them to sever ties with Tommy. The hitters decide to use real bullets instead of blanks during the drive-by, hitting Vincent and almost killing more people, before Kana comes through to “save the day”. He kills the hitters, and tells Vincent they were linked to Tommy’s past drug game issues, which Tommy and Sammy swore were over. Kanan is creating dissent within the mob, making it easier to step in once Tommy is gone…

Ghost copes with Raina’s death by drinking which clouds his normal judgment. The ill effects have slowly crept up in his personality throughout the season, and the grief finally explodes in his face. During the Truth fundraiser for the Queens Child Project, Ghost botches his speech to the crowd after seeing a mirage of Raina in the audience. He couldn’t complete the speech had to leave, forcing Councilman Tate to look towards other options for public representation of the QCP. Tate recruits Dre to elevate his public persona and join the QCP as the stick-up-kid-turned-entrepreneur success story the board touts to the investors. Dre refuses but later reconsiders after figuring out that intertwining public business with Ghost would preclude his former boss from killing him. So Dre decides to keep his enemies closer and foil any revenge plan Ghost devised by joining the project as a co-face of the brand.
Ghost’s unresolved grief leads to resentment towards Tasha. She couldn’t make the event and was supposed to give the speech Ghost delivered. Ghost claims Tasha is selfish and doesn’t truly care about the family, and Tasha has had enough. She wants freedom from Ghost, the house and even “the life”. Tasha’s mother sees her ulterior motive for leaving as an escape towards Terry Silver, who craves to be Tasha’s designer suited savior. Tasha moves in with Silver, leaving Ghost alone and without anyone to blame but himself.
Angela can breathe a quick sigh of relief after receiving the files on Raymond Jones’ death, halting Blanca Rodriguez investigation into her cover-up. Now it’s time to make a move on the Jimenez. Angela and Media arrest Arturo and get him to snitch on the Jimenez. The Feds roll on Diego and Alicia at the airport and capture them on a laundry list of charges. The AUSA’s office celebrated the major victory but their triumph was short-lived. Steve Tampio from the DEA arrived to reveal an order to speak with the Jimenez and ultimately release them from custody. It seems the cartel is “too big to fail” by upper level U.S. Government standards and cannot be captured. Even more shocking, Alicia planted evidence to lead the DEA to them in order for Diego to be captured. Alicia feels Diego is too unstable and needs to be removed. Since Diego is the face of the cartel, Tampio won’t do Alicia’s dirty work. Angela suffers a crushing defeat in business and in love. Let’s just say Steve and Angela won’t be meeting for late night cocktails anytime soon.

If losing the Jimenez to “Governmental Discretion” wasn’t bad enough, Angela is facing investigations from multiple sources. Mak and Saxe still want her to go down with Tommy and Ghost for everything and continue to apply pressure. They still have Teresi as the mole, and executed a search warrant on Proctor’s house due to Bailey Markham’s disappearance (thanks, Tommy). Blanca interviews Darryl, who’s suspended for “misuse of login” and she’s already connected the dots to Angela’s improper use of Darryl’s I.D. Her investigation won’t stop until she can prove Angela’s shady dealings.
At episode’s end, we see familiar faces linking up for an overdue meeting. Angela and Ghost reunite to speak about their troubles. Neither is OK, and they don’t know what to do. The waitress asking them “Do you two know what you want?” made sense because this second chance at a possible rekindled relationship is the first of many questions Angela and Ghost need to reconcile in order to get their lives back on track.
