Pleasure P’s been doing his thing in the music game since the Pretty Ricky days and though he’s since fallen off the spotlight for a hot minute his recent addition to the cast of Love & Hip Hop: Miami has thrust him back into the forefront of the mainstream.
Using his platform to promote his newest EP Pleasure P Presents which drops today, P swings through your favorite morning Hip-Hop show to chop it up about his career up and downs.
Sitting down with The Breakfast Club, Pleasure P talks about why he changed his name up in the middle of the game, where those nasty rumors that cost him millions allegedly originated from, and how an ungrateful woman inspired a new song.

1. Love & Hip Hop Fame
Though Love & Hip Hop exposed Pleasure P to a wider audience he doesn’t feel that it’s helped his career much saying he feels whoever messed with him before the show still messes with him regardless. He also says them LHH checks ain’t all that.

2. One In The Same Person
He confirms that Marcus Cooper and Pleasure P are indeed the same person. He decided to go with Marcus Cooper because at one point “they messed up the name Pleasure P with the [child molestation] rumors” but knowing that a great deal of paper had been poured into the whole Pleasure P persona, he eventually decided to just roll with both names. As for those rumors, Marcus says “People gonna say what they say. That’s the hardest part for me even though it’s not true.”

3. Those Rumors
As for where those rumors started, P feels that it was his ex-group Pretty Ricky that spread those rumors once he went solo and experienced success. “They probably won’t say it but absolutely.” Even though he lost a lot of money and even his record deal with Atlantic, he’s still willing to work with them again because “that’s what forgiveness is.” He even says that a lot of Pretty Ricky songs are done but they’re all missing Slick’em verses from them and apparently Slick is hurting for cash so we’re confused as to why he isn’t jumping at the chance for a check.

4. You Changed
His song “You Changed” was based on a real relationship he had with a woman who didn’t appreciate the way he “balled” for her. From belittling a 75 foot yacht for being too small to being upset that he bought a birthday cake for her and her three friends at a joint birthday party that she requested, she was “ungrateful” for almost anything he did for her.

6. Fight Club
Pleasure P confirms that he and Baby Blue threw hands after a concert in the dressing room. According to P he got the best of Baby Blue after Blue popped off on him backstage. Apparently they made up afterwards cause there’s money to be made.
