Mike Epps, Laz Alonso, Tasha Smith & Pooch Hall Promote Their Film “Jumping The Broom” In NYC
Just days before the opening of one of this year’s most anticipated films, JUMPING THE BROOM, cast members Laz Alonso, Tasha Smith, Mike Epps and Pooch Hall hosted an intimate press dinner at New York’s PRANNA Restaurant.
The cast of the T.D. Jakes produced film greeted members of the press and spoke on a number of topics including typecasting which actress Tasha Smith says she tries to avoid.
“The characters I play may be strong women, but they aren’t the same.”
The cast also made sure to sing praises to the director of the film Salim Akil who is on the path to greatness according to actor Laz Alonzo.
“In the next five years, Salim will be one of the top directors in Hollywood…Not just a top black director, but one of the best in the business…period!”
Speaking on the film itself, ‘The Game’s’ Pooch Hall added,
“This is a movie about choices. You choose how your life should go…It’s a film everyone can relate to.”
Also on hand was Free formerly of 106 & Park who posed for pictures with the cast.
JUMPING THE BROOM is in theaters this Friday, May 6.
