Newly emancipated from her label ties to Interscope Records, it’s unclear if Azealia Banks has re-signed somewhere else or if she’s still moving independently. Despite her circumstances, the rapper plans to release her long-delayed album, Broke With Expensive Taste, and returns with a new single called “Heavy Metal And Reflective” to boot.


Despite having a hell of a year that boasts production credits on Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” and more, Pharrell‘s sonic magic didn’t translate through his Azealia Banks collaboration, “ATM Jam.” However, the highly opinionated rapper has a theory for why her Broke With Expensive Taste single didn’t live up to hit status.

Rap’s resident queen of digital beef Azealia Banks, who has been on a slandering spree, drops the energetic first single from her debut project, Broke With Expensive Taste.


Azealia Banks is back in the news, but it doesn’t involve any beef, this time. The Harlem rapper, vocalist and Twitter sh-t talker just dropped a new song, “Barely Legal,” and also revealed the release date for her proper lead single, “Yung Rapunxel,” later this month.


The thing to know (and love?) about Azealia Banks is that her Twitter mood changes with the weather, as does the direction of her  Broke With Expensive Taste debut. Banks has scrapped the two tracks, “Miss Amor” and Miss Camraderie,” as the first singles off her forthcoming release,  and replaced them with “Yung Rapunxel.”
