Michael Vick To Work For Boys & Girls Club
Vick love da kids! Suspended NFL quarterback Michael Vick is leaving his federally ordered construction job and is working for the Boys & Girls clubs in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. President and CEO of The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, Steve Kast said in a statement Tuesday.
“I would like to confirm that Boys and Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, in cooperation with the U.S. Federal Probation office in Virginia, has agreed to permit Michael Vick, a 12-year member, to fulfill a portion of his probationary requirements by working this summer at our Greater Hampton Roads facility, where he belonged as a youth.”
Kat said the decision was made after meeting with various board members, staff members, community leaders and parents. Instead of $10-an hour as a construction worker, Vick will now make $9-an hour teaching about health and fitness.
Kats is satisfied with his decision to bring the ex-NFL star on board despite skepticism from critics. “We think he can have an impact on our children because of some of the decisions he has made and his ability to deliver a message.”
