The newest Supreme Court Justice, Sonia Sotomayor, officially took her seat on the Supreme Court Tuesday during her investiture ceremony. Ceremony attendees packed a Washington D.C. courtroom including President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. The Justice was anointed the position last month becoming the first Hispanic justice and the third woman. She took the oath again during Tuesday’s ceremony, a long standing tradition with the Supreme Court.

Attorney General Eric Holder gave Sotomayor her ivory colored commission and Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office. Sotomayor then took her seat at the end of the bench beside Justice Stephen Breyer.

Also in the courtroom were her mother, stepfather and brother, retired Justice David Souter who she is replacing, and oddly “Shake Your Bon Bon” singer, Ricky Martin. All of the other Supreme Court Justices were in attendance at the ceremony as well.
