Since his inauguration several months ago, one of the most popular president’s in the history of the American Presidency has faced an anger never before seen by any of his predecessors.

Hated by members of the right while facing opposition from members within the Democratic Party, President Obama has had the unenviable job of navigating the rushing tides of the worst economic climate since the Great Depression while beating back the flames of racism.

While some have chosen to hate from within the safety of their own homes, others have opted for the road most often traversed, one which guides people to the streets with their feux professional displeasure of the President while masking the amazingly non-complex nuances of their bigotry and intolerance.

A prime example of such ignorance can be scene in the reactions of people, supposedly “normal,” red-blooded Americans, to a recently surfaced video of children singing about our first Black Commander-In-Chief.

It’s just like the Hitler Youth all over again,” remarked Chris Concannon, an unemployed National Guardsman, of the footage. “They should be learning history, but instead they’re being taught to worship the president.”

The video in question is of children from B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, New Jersey singing an inspirational song about our President.

Toting lyrics such as “he said we must be clear today, equal work means equal pay” and “he said that all must lend a hand to make this country strong again,” the performance has worked Tea Baggers and conservative nut jobs into a tizzy, leading them to cry foul and shout rants of government influence from the high heavens.

Coinciding with both President’s Day and Black History Month, the taped performance has lead to the investigation of Burlington’s superintendent, Christopher Manno, at the behest of New Jersey’s education commissioner.

<blockquote>“There was no intention to indoctrinate children,” said Manno to the bastion of truth known as Fox News. “There was no political agenda underlying the activity. The teacher’s intention was to engage children in an activity to recognize famous and accomplished [Black] Americans during Black History Month.”

Needless to say, it appears that anyone remotely suspected of harboring positive feelings for President Obama, his ideas, or anyone associated with trying to fix this socially, intellectually, and spiritually, ravaged nation after eight years of the blatant lies and highly inept leadership, is in for a rough four years.

Better yet. . .

Make that eight years. . .
