NFL Star Donte Stallworth Cut From Cleveland Browns After Reinstatement From Manslaughter Conviction

NFL player Donte Stallworth seems to be getting absolutely no breaks as his return to the league found the wide receiver being cut from the Cleveland Browns.

Roger Goodell, the NFL Commissioner, stated at a news conference that he would be reinstating the player after the Super Bowl, now believing that he had truly turned his life around after having so much time off.

After coming off the suspension for a season, the Browns announced that they were voiding the contract of Stallworth.

In 2009, the player was temporarily ejected from football, without pay, by the league after driving drunk resulted in him killing a pedestrian in Miami.

Reports show that the player was drinking at a bar and decided to drive and ended up striking 59-year-old construction worker Mario Reyes with his car, causing his death.

Further investigation from authorities found that Stallworth had a blood-alcohol level of .126 with the legal limit for Florida being .08.

In June, the player pleaded guilty to manslaughter while driving under the influence and was given 30 days behind bars for the crime.  He has also been given eight years of probation, two years of house arrest and 1,000 hours of community service.

The family of Reyes was able to reach a settlement with Stallworth.

It appears that the road to redemption is quite a tumultuous one to travel
