“It’s almost like we did this whole entire album with our eyes closed, not because it was that easy but because it was that important to reconnect to what we feel and I would say this album is like scrapping everything and starting with nothing…”

Pharrell is continuing to reveal details on N.E.R.D.’s progress in the studio.

As previously reported, the group added Rhea, a female singer that reportedly left the band a short time later.

While he’s not speaking on the group’s membership status, Skateboard P is dishing out details on the group’s new album.

Speaking with MTV UK, Pharrell gave details on the album originally thought to be titled Instant Gratification that was revamped completely.

Now titled Nothing, Pharrell says the title is reminiscent of the recording process where they canned 27 songs and started over from scratch.

“We scrapped 27 records because they weren’t good enough, they sounded great – but what were they saying? So we went back in (to the studio) and just focused on feeling…It’s almost like we did this whole entire album with our eyes closed, not because it was that easy but because it was that important to reconnect to what we feel and I would say this album is like scrapping everything and starting with nothing.”

He also told MTV UK that the group is set to drop their new single “Hot & Fun” in the upcoming weeks. According to P, the group’s new music should be especially appealing to female fans especially if they can get past the negative connotations usually associated with some words.

“You know what’s so funny, It’s that not once do we say t*t or a%# or anything that you think could be automatically erogenous but I think that the right mentality and good and pure intention is the sexiest thing that I could ever give to a woman.”

No word on when N.E.R.D.’s Nothing will be completed.
