Lauren London Says She Was Once Engaged To Lil Wayne
Lauren London is speaking out on a topic she’s usually kept under wraps, her relationship with Lil Wayne.
In 2009 London surprised a number of people when news broke that she was pregnant with the rapper’s child.
The news of course was no surprise to the ‘Madea’s Big Happy Family’ actress who recently revealed that she and the Young Money head had been friends since age 15.
London broke the news to Kathleen Cross of SkinDeep.com saying that people have misconceptions about her ties to Lil Wayne and think that the conception of their child was just a one-night stand.
“That my son is the result of some kind of one night stand or groupie encounter with his father. I struggle with deciding when to answer or ignore the constant speculation about my private life, because I feel like that doesn’t belong to anybody but me.”
She adds,
“I met Dwayne when I was 15 years old. I’ve known him a very long time, and we were in a relationship that didn’t make it. We tried more than once to revive it, and we were engaged briefly years ago, but we eventually parted ways. People see the “Lil’ Wayne” persona and think they know who he really is. My son’s father is an intelligent, loving and lovable person who will always be a dear friend. That is all.”
The actress also made sure to mention that she and Lil Wayne’s other baby-mommas—Toya Carter, Nivea and Sarah Vivian are “all good-hearted women” that have developed “real friendships.”
