Shawty Lo Signs Label Deal With 50 Cent and G-unit Records… Not Artist Deal

Hip-Hop Wired caught up with Shawty Lo  at the release party for his new mixtape B.H.F. (Bankhead Forever) which is hosted by Greg Street.

The Bowen Homes emcee  discussed his joint venture deal with 50 Cent’s  G- Unit Records as he clarified that he did not sign as an artist.

“It’s just a big movement and I’m promoting me and and my whole team.  It’s about to be a south take over right here.  I had a couple of meetings with a lot of labels but our vibe was just so good and I just signed by the X.

But I’m a boss too so i didn’t sign as an artist.  It’s D4L/G-Unit.  I feel like what he’s bringing to the table my previous label should have done and I just needed a little push behind me. “

Shawty Lo’s sophomore release and G-Unit debut Still Got Units is scheduled to be released later this year.

In the meantime peep Hip-Hop Wired’s interview with Lo as he also discusses his fight with diabetes and community endeavors  in the hood.
