U. of Houston To Display DJ Screw Collection
The University of Houston has announced that they have acquired a collection of more than 1,000 vinyls and other items from the collection of legendary Houston deejay, DJ Screw.
The University announced on Tuesday that the DJ Screw Sound Recordings Collection, donated by the late deejay's father will be on display March 19 – Sept. 21, 2012 at the M.D. Anderson Library and open for researchers in 2013.
DJ Screw, born Robert Davis, was the founding father of Houston's signature slowed down sound due to the popularity of his “screw tapes.”
