The Birthplace Of Hip-Hop Faces Foreclosure Auction

1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx a.k.a. the Birthplace Of Hip-Hop is facing foreclosure.

According to reports, the one-time home to DJ Kool Herc's hip-hop parties of the 1970s will be auctioned off next month.

The building which faced troubles two years ago, has since changed owners, who has also fallen on hard times with the place.

NY.Curbed.com reports:

Turns out it hasn't been as easy for the new owners to fix that situation as they expected, because they've run into a bit of trouble paying the mortgage.

According to PropertyShark, the building is facing a foreclosure auction on November 7.

The lien amount: $7,379,208. Will anyone ever rescue this piece of history?

Will Smith, Jay-Z, 50, Rush or somebody need to buy this spot and turn it into a museum/community center. This is THE birthplace of hip hop and must be conserved for that purpose. I would say Puffy but he'd find a way to turn it into self-promotion somehow.
