If you were ever a fan of Mobb Deep then you owned a Carharrt hoody and and Alpha Industries M-1 jacket. This was the Hip-Hop uniform adopted by rap nihilists from New York to Berlin. As a matter of fact, Carharrt is so big in Europe right now that they have boutique stores in countries like Sweden. Can you imagine buying a Carharrt conehead hoody from a boutique? I just hope they have the boxcutters and hammers behind glass.

    This was a very confusing and unorganized article.   The title of the article was the top 10 hip-hop clothing brands, yet you gave us the top 23 groups. Then you attempt to give us a history of each clothing trend, but in actuality you gave us your opinion as to why "certain" labels are considered hip-hop. And I have to say, trying to substantiate Ralph Lauren's story  as a parallel to the black community is horrendous and false. The hip hop culture doesn't purchases Ralph Lauren because of his story; the purchase his clothes because of their need to validate their status through clothing. Ever heard of conspicuous consumption?
