Hip-Hop Wired continues its 4-part series entitled, The Commission. The name derives from the Hip-Hop super-group that never came to fruition, which consisted of The Notorious B.I.G.Jay-Z, & Charli Baltimore. The group was designed around two of the Greatest MC’s of All-Time, which would have represented Hip-Hop at the highest levels possible. The aim of Hip-Hop Wired’s Commission is to bring you opinions from some of the most respected names and brands within Hip-Hop culture.

This four part series will examine the following subjects:

Who is Hip-Hop’s Next Great MC?”

“Who Is the Best Camp in the Game?”

“Has Social Media Killed the Diss Record?”

“Has Hip-Hop Lost some of its Masculinity/Is Gangster Rap Dead?”

We recently debated “The Game’s Next Great MC,” and saw Kendrick Lamar emerge victorious. In a close second, was Maybach Music MC Meek Mill, followed by A$AP Rocky. In this segment we debate the best camps in the game. The competition lies between six crews in Hip-Hop: YMCMB, Maybach Music, Roc Nation, Bad Boy, Shady/Aftermath, & G.O.O.D. Music.

YMCMB is moving units, which technically makes them the “hottest.”  As one homie said, “Nicki alone crushes ni–as’ dreams,” when it comes to sales figures. But alas, aside from the Cash Money clique’s monster popularity, these guys haven’t been doing the kind of things that get crews respect. Wayne is hopping around in Kermit boots and making everybody wait for a lackluster solo disc; Nicki’s performance at the Grammys left much to be desired and Drake — well, he’s cool, but 1 outta 3 stars #winning ain’t gon’ cut it. If this was the “Camps I Fux With” Award, then I’d give it to Maybach Music Group. Please see Rick RossRich Forever.
