With Mother’s Day this weekend, Trayvon Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, is using the holiday as a platform to bring awareness to Florida’s controversial “stand your ground law.” Fulton released a new video urging the public to take a stand against the very law that made it legal for shooter, George Zimmerman, to kill her unarmed teen son.

The day will be an emotional one for Fulton, who has been tireless in her efforts to get justice for her son. In the one-minute long video she explains how she is making it through, while acknowledging other mother’s who have lost children.  “This will be my first Mother’s Day without my son, Trayvon. I know it will be hard, but my faith, family and friends will pull me through,” she says. “This Sunday, I’m going to say a prayer for other mothers across America who share this unbearable pain.”

Since her son’s passing many have rallied to show their support for Fulton and her family, but then there are those who have used the 17-year-old’s death to make a quick buck. As we reported earlier today, a Florida resident created sweatshirts bearing a gun range target, which allegedly sold out within two days of going on sale.
