Everyone can calm down, Nicki Minaj isn’t endorsing Mitt Romney (at least not publicly, we don’t know what she does in her personal life).  She incited a media fury over her lyrics on Lil Wayne’s Dedication 4 mixtape, the result of which exposed that she was not registered to vote, and elicited a response from President Obama. After a good week or so of silence, Minaj has finally explained the meaning behind her words—sort of.

When asked about the issue, Obama brushed it off as another example of Minaj playing a character, and according to her latest tweet, the commander in chief was right on target. “Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do… *sends love & support*@BarackObama,” she wrote.

The Harajuku Barbie was also honored the POTUS would take time out of his busy schedule of both running the country and running for re-election, to address such a small issue. “Awesome! Now I can tell my grandchildren that the 1st black President of the United States took the time to address a Nicki Minaj question.”

So there you have it, Minaj doesn’t have beef with President Obama.  All is right with the Universe.
