Gudtyme’s unearthed a proverbial gold mine of Hip-Hop rarities in this new mixtape, Lunchroom Battles: Desperately Seeking Vanessa. In his own words, Gudtyme reminisces on growing up in the Corona section of Queens, NY where he got to see tons of Hip-Hop legends and luminaries performing in the hood. Whether it be breaking, graphing, or rapping, the genesis and the essence of what we call Hip-Hop is what is captured in this tape.

This tape includes re-mastered live recordings of Biz Markie and Rakim performing at a high school in Long Island, Nas and Akinyele dropping “Live at the BBQ” lyrics before Breaking Atoms, Stetsasonic performing on the radio, and Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick’s vintage routine. Pretty good stuff on here for anyone who grew up in the golden era of Hip-Hop. Hit the jump to peep the tracklist and listen or download Lunchroom Battles
