President Obama Talks Friendship With Jay-Z, Offers Advice In Raising Blue Ivy [LISTEN]
In a recent radio interview with Cleveland radio station Z107.9, President Obama spoke on his bid for re-election, his experiences as president of the United States, and his growing relationship with rapper Jay-Z.
Despite being two well-known figures, Obama revealed that he and Jay are actually pretty normal.“We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends,” he said.
With the birth of their first born, Blue Ivy Carter, Jay-Z and Beyoncé's relationship with the commander in chief and his family has grown even more as President Obama has given the Carters advice on parenting. “I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyoncé out [with the baby], and not leaving it all with Beyoncé and the mother-in-law,” he continued.
Beyoncé and First Lady Michelle Obama are also growing closer as friends. “I've gotten to know these guys over the first several years. They're good people. Beyoncé could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they're good friends.”
Not only is President Obama a fan of Hov's music, but also considers him a great ally and political asset. Since announcing his first bid for president in 2008, Jay has been one of Obama's biggest musical supporters. To further show his support, the Brooklyn mogul recently held a fundraiser for the Obama campaign at his Manhattan 40/40 club, and appeared in the latest Obama For America ad, detailing his support for the commander in chief's run for re-election.
