Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean & Drake Make Forbes' 30 Under 30 [PHOTOS]
Forbes magazine has released its annual 30 Under 30 lists of top innovators and influencers in 15 total categories that include music, sports, media and social entrepreneurs. Hip-Hop was represented in the music category with rappers Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Drake, Kendrick Lamar making the cut as well as Rihanna and soul crooner Frank Ocean.
Wiz Khalifa doesn't usually wear dress shoes. But as the lanky rapper cycles through his options at a photo shoot, one pair catches his fancy—a black-on-matte-black-checked pair of Louis Vuittons—so stylish he'd consider buying his own. "I gotta take my two front teeth off my Christmas list," he says with a laugh. Khalifa doesn't need to wait for Santa Claus. Fueled by the success of the single "Black and Yellow," the 25-year-old rapper raked in $20 million over the past two years, twice landing on FORBES' Hip-Hop Cash Kings list. Next up: a new album, a wedding to model Amber Rose, and, Khalifa hopes, a leap to international superstardom. If his freestyling skills are any indication, he's well on his way: "My flow's so sick you might want to absorb this. Best believe every year young Khalifa gonna make that Forbes list."
Also included in the music 30 Under 30 were Rap Genius co-founders Mahbod Moghadam, Ilan Zechory and Tom Lehman. Mac Miller was a returnee, having been featured in the 30 Under 30 last year. One of the three judges for the music list was Cash Money Records CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams. "[It's a] great lineup," said the YMCMB honcho of this year's 30 Under 30 music list.
