Fox To Premiere Rihanna 777 Documentary In May

Rihanna is bringing the "777" experience directly to the small screen, with a forthcoming documentary set to debut on Fox, in May. The film, Rihanna 777, will be a one-hour special focussed on the star's tour, and includes behind-the-scenes shots of life on the road, commentary, and of course performances.

Fox said in a statement that Rihanna 777 "provides an inside look at the singer's ambitious and often turbulent tour, from the sound of popping champagne corks on the plane to the backstage chaos to the singer's special worldwide appearances."

The 25-year-old set out on a seven-day, seven-country, seven-date tour just over a week before the release of her Unapologetic album, last year. What started out as an exciting trek alongside journalists and fans, turned into a bit of a media debacle. Within a couple of days of the tour, the media on board had several complaints, turning their alleged mistreatment into the news story.

But no matter the bad press, or how the crew she took along felt, the bajan beauty enjoyed herself. "I knew a couple of people got worked up, but only found out toward the end," she told Rolling Stone. "The fun never stopped for me. I enjoyed every minute of it. And it definitely brought a lot of awareness to the album—which was the whole point."

Aside from the documentary, Rihanna can currently be seen on her Diamonds world tour , which she recently resumed, after a bought with laryngitis.
