While we’re not sure of the reason, it’s obvious that many veteran and upcoming rappers feel it’s necessary to yell their punchlines as loud as they can.
Maybe it’s to bring rawness and hunger on the track or maybe it’s because simply yelling will hopefully make us look over the lack of rapping skills they have.
Whatever the reason is, rappers are constantly yelling and these are the ones who do it best.
Peep the page #’s below to see the top 10 rappers who turn screaming into an art.
Meek Mill probably had the Summer anthem with the hit single “I’m A Boss,” but that’s probably because he yelled so much we didn’t have a choice but to like it.

We call Meek the Al Green rapper in this office because he raps like he had hot grits thrown on him. No shot though, Meek is cool with us, just not the ears.
Most rappers are just naturally loud but Plies just screams at you, and by YOU I mean anyone.
Whether he’s screaming at females about pouring Kool-Aid on them or whatever ignorant Shyte he can think of or he’s screaming on a track to pretend that this guy wasn’t a valedictorian and in college to become a nurse, Plies is somewhere ALWAYS screaming.
“GUESS WHAT MY MOMA TOLD ME?!”……hopefully to calm yourself down.
When you’re known for your yelling ad-libs more than anything else, that means your loud.
From Chappelle Show Sketches, to yelling on pop tracks, to yelling on the Celebrity Apprentice, you got to give Lil Jon credit for stretching out this career.
WHHHAATT?!!?
I said you got to…nevermind.
Mystikal not only told you what to do but he also constantly yelled at you to do it.
Not only that, Mystikal was fast and loud! So even if your ears were accustomed to loud rapping, you had to try to keep up with what he was saying the whole verse.
Does anyone even know what Mystikals verse on “It Aint My Fault” was about?
DMX is hands down the best loud rapper ever.
Even when DMX gave you a sentimental song or too, the inner Preacher in X would come out and yell at you, God, or whoever would listen.
Unlike Plies however, DMX was smooth with being loud (if that makes sense) and can easily hype you up despite any emotion you were going through.
Yung Wun had a very short career probably for the fact people were tired of being yelled at by him.
While some of us know him from yelling on the Ruff Ryder mixtapes, his major hit being a soundtrack record off of “Drumline” the movie, Yung Wun with the help of DMX, David Banner, and Lil Flip yelled into the mainstream circuit for a hot minute.
DMX, Yung Wun, and David Banner all yelling on the same track though? I feel bad for Lil Flip, oh not because of the yelling though but because he’s Lil Flip.
Tell me one M.O.P. song that doesn’t involve yelling….it’s okay I’ll wait.
Eminem has always been pretty vulgar and controversial, however, the yelling thing is somewhat new to him.
Unless he was yelling at “Kim,” Eminem was never really a loud rapper until later into his career. (Exception of Criminal and a few others)
While personally I like the “Who Knew” style over the yelling, to each their own..
Having a sentence about Ja Rule without using the word loud, isn’t really a sentence about Ja Rule.
Waka Flocka is one of the only rappers to have three certified top 10 hits from his freshman album, all yelling.
“O Lets Do It” (The T is silent cuz it’s French) “No Hands” and “Hard In The Paint” are all jams that will have you bouncing in the club and the driver’s seat.
While we don’t know how, the general public must love yelling because Flocka has turned his loudness into a career.
