Rapper Pitbull will be honored for his achievements as the newest recipient of the President’s Award at this year’s BMI Latin Awards. Mr Worldwide will receive the honor during a private ceremony to be held at the Encore Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on March 30.

No doubt, the Miami native had a breakout year in 2011 with digital sales numbers ranging in the millions due to the success of hits like “Hey Baby,” “I Know You Want Me,” and the Ne-Yo assisted single “Give Me More.” A longtime collaborator in the Hip-Hop world, the 31-year-old recently set his sites on The Throne, releasing his own version of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s “Ni**s In Paris.” He has also appeared on tracks with the likes of Lil Jon, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Brown, and T-Pain just to name a few.

The BMI President’s Awards is presented to unique songwriters who or executives for their profound influence in the entertainment industry. Previous recipients include Juanes, Gloria Estefan, Taylor Swift, and WIllie Nelson.

Hosted by BMI President & CEO Del Bryant and Delia Orjuela, the 19th Annual BMI Latin Awards will also hand out trophies for the Latin Song, Songwriter, and Publisher of the Year.
