Four other U.S. Army soldiers in Georgia, have been charged for their connection to a militia group which plotted to kill President Obama. The group, known as Forever Enduring Always Ready (F.E.A.R.), is believed to have carried out illegal gang activity, with goals of overthrowing the government, District Attorney Tom Durden announced Tuesday (Sept. 11). “The burglaries and entering autos, they were committed in an effort to fund F.E.A.R., and what F.E.A.R. was at least advocating they wanted to accomplish,”  said Durden.

The indictments of new suspects, which includes one non-Army member, came Monday (Sept. 10), bringing the total to nine. As previously reported, four other U.S. Army soldiers were taken into custody for the murder of fellow soldier Michael Roark and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Tiffany York. The men are accused of killing Roark for betraying their group, which had plans of bombing a park in Savannah and poisoning apple crops in Washington state.

Authorities stumbled upon the plot to kill the president while investigating the deaths of Roark and York. The group’s ring leader  Army Pvt. Isaac Acquiqui used insurance money he received after his wife’s death to purchase $80,000 in weapons, to carry out the attacks. “This domestic terrorist organization did not simply plan and talk,” said prosecutor Isabel Pauley. “Prior to the murders in this case, the group took action. Evidence shows that group possessed the knowledge, means and motive to carry out their plans.”

All four of the newly charged men – Christopher Jenderseck, Adam Dearman, Timothy Joiner, and Anthony Garner— are former soldiers, three of which were given administrative separations from the Army between November and May, while one man’s enlistment ended as of April .

“We remain confident there are no unknown subjects,” said Fort Stewart spokesman Kevin Larson. “The five individuals indicted today … were known to the investigation and were not publicly identified previously to preserve the integrity of the investigation and ongoing civilian legal proceedings.”

Prosecutors will seek the death penalty for the original four charged, but have yet to announce if the newly indicted suspects may meet the same fate.
