Wearing teal eye shadow, exaggerated eyelashes, and her signature pink/blond mashup ‘do, Nicki Minaj graces the cover of New York Magazine’s Fashion Double Issue. The Young Money prom queen talks attending fashion shows with Vogue’s legendary Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour, who sent Minaj an autographed photo the next day and suggested they “matched” for both wearing orange. Nicki also goes on to discuss her many alter egos (she only calls three by name), her love affair with fashion, and her desire to be different.

“I like the idea of doing something that everyone else is not. I get high off that,” Minaj tells NYM’s Fashion Director Amy Larocca. “Just the idea that other people don’t have the balls to do something–that’s my thing.” At last night’s Grammy Awards, Nicki re-enacted a mock exorcism during her performance, complete with a closing levitation. She also introduced a new track, “Roman Holiday,” rumored to be on her debut follow-up Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

Nicki Minaj’s fast ascent to superstardom is less than two years old. Just last weekend she flanked Madonna at the SuperBowl (alongside M.I.A. and her middle finger) for a performance of their latest single “Give Me All Your Luvin.’” Nicki’s New York Magazine cover story is on stands now and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is slated for an April 3rd release.
