Last night at the Warner Sound stage at South By South West, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis hit the stage to perform.
At The Belmost, the Seattle duo performed their hit single “Thrift Shop” as well as their follow-up single “Can’t Hold Us.” Following the backlash they received for licensing their song “Wing$” for a commercial that first ran during the NBA All-Star break, it was business as usual when they performed a few weeks ago on Saturday Night Live.
The pair looks like they have no intentions of slowing down as their album, The Heist, has just been certified gold in the United States and “Thrift Shop” has moved a stunning 4 million copies. This is an amazing accomplishment for a rapper who remains independent. Rumors have been swirling that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will take their talents to a major label in the near future, but it’s not like they need the extra push.
Check out their SXSW performance below.
