Run DMC, one of the most stylish collectives in Hip-Hop history, reconnected with adidas deliver a capsule collection a pair of kicks donning their infamous insignia. The clothing portion released weeks ago, but the premium pair of Original Superstar 80s, coined the “Run D.M.C.,” are now available.
These should be a treat for anyone that missed a similar drop in 2011 that had a “dookie rope” attached. This shoe, however, does not have the Jam Master Jay logo on the heel tab and comes without shoestrings for historical accuracy (though some are provided in the packaging).
Any sneaker fiend will fall in love with these classic. Our only gripe is the timing of the drop, because the “Run D.M.C.” would have been an ill set to lace up in the summer.
Cop them at the adidas site. See photos of the shoe below.
