Hennessy has long mastered the presentation aspects on their bottles to match the wizardry contained in the spirits. Revered artist Ryan McGinness is the latest visionary to add his creative touch to a Hennessy V.S Limited Edition package.
The New York-born McGinness succeeds the progressive minds of Shepard Fairey, KAWS, Futura and Os GemĂȘos who have all added their personal touch to Hennessy bottles. The newest bottle reflects his ongoing piece titled “Black Holes” and actually takes the art where no Hennessy bottle has gone thus far. The graphics take on a radiating pattern in bright fluorescent colors that is illuminated when the bottle is placed under black light. Groovy.
McGinness’ works are currently featured in public collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Cincinnati Art Museum, MUSAC in Spain, and the Misumi Collection in Japan and now can be in a permanent fixture of your liquor cabinet (provided you are a responsible drinker).
Bottles are currently available for pre-sale online at Reserve Bar, and will be on shelves at select wine and spirits retailers starting in early August. A Hennessy Limited Edition Deluxe set will also be available for approximately $150, featuring two adaptations of the design by Ryan McGinness, in black and fluorescent colors on a black background.
