In case you haven’t noticed, Kanye West hasn’t been the star of many of his music videos lately. That’s on purpose. The artist says he’s tired of being in his own videos.
In an interview with W magazine, Kanye says that he can’t stand making music videos anymore.
“I barely want to stand in front of the camera at all,” he says. “I rather do things where I’m just using my mind.”
That may explain why in the videos that he’s released for singles off The Life Of Pablo so far, he’s only appeared in one of them. The black and white clip for “Wolves” is the only video that features a living, breathing Kanye. “Famous” only had him as an inanimate figures laying naked with other naked bodies and wax figurines. “Fade” didn’t feature him at all.
It has been reported that Kanye shot a video for “Highlights” in Iceland earlier this year, so maybe that will be the last one we see him in.
Check out the rest of Kanye’s interview below and peep the cover images after the jump.
