More details are being released from the murder suicide of Jovan Belcher and his girlfriend, Kassandra Perkins.

The 25-year-old allegedly had a side piece with whom he texted about killing Perkins, “if she didn’t leave him alone.”

The woman who received the text is said to have thought Belcher’s claims were a joke, as he wrote that the mother of his infant daughter “knew exactly how to press his buttons and make him angry.”

A new police report reveals that the Kansas City Chief’s player’s death has been ruled a suicide, but explained violent times between the two. The couple was going to counseling provided by the Chiefs, to help Belcher deal with his “trust issues.”

On the night that he killed Perkins and then himself, Belcher allegedly got upset with her over coming in late from a Trey Songz concert. He was also confronted by police after it was reported that he was sleeping in his car. Officers told him to go back home, where he killed Perkins, while his mother was in the house.

Belcher then drove to Arrowhead Stadium and took his life in front of his coach and general manager.
