You’ve probably notice New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony balling in his signature kicks. But today Jordan Brand officially unveiled the NBA MVP candidate’s ninth signature shoe, the Jordan Melo M9.
The new sneaker’s design was inspired by Melo’s love of high end watches and armored superhero suits. The space age looking shoe features Dynamic Fit tech that incorporates straps made of Flywire, Zoom cushioning a Phylon midsole and more. The shoe serves to maximize Melo’s unique combination of speed, finesse and power.
“I love the idea of being locked in, whether I’m on the perimeter or making a move in the post,” said Anthony in a press statement. “I want to protect my ankles while not restricting my cutting ability. After working closely with the Jordan Brand team during development stages, the JORDAN MELO M9 fits my game perfectly.”
The Melo 9 will retail for $140 and its four initial colorways (Game Royal/Black/Team Orange/White, Black/White/University Blue, Black/White/Bright Citrus and Gym Red/Black/White) of the shoe will be available starting January 9.
