Black love is beautiful. And it’s upped exponentially when the two people seen showing blatant and subtle public affection for each other are President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
2013’s inauguration may not have had as many people as 2009’s but it was still a whirlwind days for the couple. Nevertheless, as news outlets scrambled to figure out what clothing brands Michelle was rocking and what on point statement Obama would deliver next, they managed to look flawless.
The news coverage was exhaustive, with the couple every move–including Michelle sending a mean, and probably warranted, side eye Speaker of the House John Boehner’s way–being scrutinized. Nevertheless, just by doing them, they were an image of the American Dream achieved. Jay-Z and Beyoncé are nothing to sneeze at when it comes to power couples, but our money is on the duo that resides in the White House.
