A rapper has been named among those killed during a Las Vegas shootout that resulted in several car crashes, yesterday morning. Kenny Cherry Jr. of the Bay Area was one of the casualties.
Cherry went by the rap moniker “Kenny Clutch,” and was driving the Maserati that was riddled with bullets, which came from a black Range Rover. Police are still looking for the driver of the Range Rover, who fled to the scene.
“Out of everyone I know in the rapping industry, there is no way I would have ever, ever expected to find that he was shot on the Las Vegas Strip in such an aggressive manner,” his attorney, Vicki Greco, said.
Clutch was from Oakland, Calif. but lived in Sin City. He did not have a criminal record, and is believed to have gotten into a verbal altercation with the person in the Range Rover at the Aria hotel. The fight spilled out onto the streets resulting in a shootout at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road.
A taxi driver and a passenger were also killed when Cherry’s car crashed into the cab, which caught on fire.
