Ever imagine if Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and LeBron James’ signature kicks took performance enhancing drugs? That’s sort of the case with Nike Basketball’s ELITE Series 2.0 sneakers.
The shoes—James’ LeBron X PS Elite, Bryant’s Kobe 8 System Elite and Durant’s KD V Elite—have been retrofitted with Kevlar® aramid, carbon fiber and articulated foam. Basically the kicks have managed to become lighter and a bit stronger for post season play.
Each ELITE Series 2.0 model features a story surrounding its creation (you can read them in the gallery) that ultimately complements each respective player. King James’ shoes emphasize his power, the Mamba’s is all about speed while KD’s is focused on control.
All three shoes will be available at select retailers and online starting April 27. Just in time for the NBA playoffs. You know, when the real NBA season begins.
No word on exact pricing just yet, but expect a bump. Check out all the Nike ELITE Series 2.0 kicks in the gallery. What’s your favorite?
