The Rap life isn’t an easy one to live. On top of always fighting for your spot at the top, you have to balance your time between all the work and your loved ones at home. While the money eases the stress of the day to day family finances, many rappers have not been successful at keeping their marriages intact.
Different factors can play into the husband and wife connection. Drugs, groupies, constant traveling, ego and more have led to different couples with in Hip-Hop to separate. In the last year alone multiple rappers have been hit with divorce papers from their wives. With those filings come hefty legal fees, absurd monthly alimony payments and child custody requests.
While we wish that everyone remains happily married, sometimes you can’t evade the unavoidable. In the following pages we’ll offer you a look at Hip-Hop couples who have decided to part ways.

Married in August of 2000, TLC member and West Coast Rapper divorced in 2004 amidst allegations of rumors of domestic abuse.
Weezy and Toya quietly wed on February 14th 2004 after giving birth to their daughter Reginea. The couple divorced in January of 2006 with Toya citing that Wayne’s busy schedule contributed to the split

In the latest rapper husband turned divorcee, Monique Mosley filed for divorced yesterday. In her court documents she is requesting alimony, child custody and for the producer to financially support her child from a previous relationship.
Emimen has married his high school sweetheart Kim twice and killed her several times on wax. Unfortunately Kim has had several run ins with the law and attempted suicide by slitting her wrists. Em has since taken custody of their daughter Hailey and Kim’s other kids from a previous relationship.
One of the most notable Hip-Hop unions in history, Treach and Pepa wed in 1998 but divorced in 2001. They share a daughter Egypt Jahnari Criss.
The Brooklyn Don and the first lady of Bad Boy Entertainment to everyone’s surprise made it official on August 4, 1994 in a shotgun wedding. Apparently B.I.G. was still was very much in player mode as he was fooling around with protege Lil’ Kim and other females. Smalls and Evans were estranged at the time of his death on March 9th 1997.
Before Ice-T wifed up Coco, he was married to Darlene Ortiz. Based on his Power album cover alone, we still scratch our heads on why he left her.
