Pitbull was found not guilty of driving under the influence and was acquitted Thursday during his trial for a D.U.I. he was charged with in 2007.

The 28 year old whose real name is Armando Perez, took the stand and claimed that his celebrity status was the reason he was pulled over.

“I was targeted because I am celebrity.”

Never mind the fact that he was caught speeding past police doing 93 mph, had slurred speech and liquor on his breath; according to Pitbull it was all just a misunderstanding. Fortunately for him, the jury agreed.

Jurors debated for about three hours before deciding on a not guilty verdict. If found guilty he would have indefinitely faced time in prison because this was his second D.U.I. Relieved to narrowly miss prison time, Pitbull made a promise while leaving the courtroom:

“I know if I go out and have a social dinner, I’m taking a driver with me.”

You do that Pitbull.
