In a recent interview, Skateboard P discussed how he plans to spread the importance of equality via his new Adidas collection.
The multi-talented and Grammy Award-winning artist sat down with W magazine to delve into his clothing collaboration with Adidas and what he wants it to represent.
“I have a new clothing collaboration with Adidas and it’s called Adidas = Pharrell Williams,” said Williams, who tries to find a way to tie in his personal values at work. “I know I can’t trademark the equal sign, and that’s fine with me because, you know what? It’s just… equal. The ‘Happy’ video is about equality; my music is about equality, and being associated with the idea of equal got me where I am now.”
Williams went on to credit the success of his standout “Happy” record for the inspiration behind his new badge of justice, so to speak. “After ‘Happy’ took off, I saw that my insignia should be an equal sign,” explained P.
