There are many things about Dame Dash that will earn him a spot in Hip-Hop’s collective memory. Namely, his work in building the Roc-A-Fella Records brand and the fall of that business relationship, and that the big part of Dame’s story that won’t be ignored: the beefs.

Even without taking his battles beyond words, they’re still pretty memorable — especially since the ex-label leader abides by a strict “no filter” policy.

After he and Jay Z went their separate ways in the mid-2000s it seems that Dash became the villain by default, and maybe that plays into why he’s so outspoken. The split of Roc La Familia, freed Dame in a way because he doesn’t have anything to lose anymore. He’s still running his own businesses (hear him elaborate on this interview with The Combat Jack Show), which means that he can pencil in as much time as he wants to go at people he disagrees with (i.e, Funkmaster Flex).

Take a look back at some of Dame’s disputes in the gallery below.

Steve Stoute

Dash has a thing about calling out label executives, and those who he believes are mooching off of hip-hop.  Stoute got branded a “culture robber” who eliminates creative people so he can jack their ideas.

Yikes.

The New York Daily News

Anybody is fair game for Damon Dash. He’s been in the media a lot thanks to those financial struggles (more on that later) and spazzed on the New York Daily News for being a “racist Republican newspaper” that never covers the good side of his story.

Lyor Cohen

Lyor Cohen is another label-related adversary on Dash’s sh*t list. Like Stoute, Dash thinks Cohen has been playing “corporate tricks” for years. He also says Cohen played a role in his fallout with Curren$y.

Accounts Payable

Dash has admittedly been having trouble paying all his bills. Last month he filed legal documents detailing the financial struggle that has him behind in rent by $100,000, taxes, and drowning in other outstanding debt.

The fight to keep all those collectors out of his pockets, might be his longest running battle yet.

Joie Manda

Interscope Records’ President of Urban Music, Joie Manda got caught up in Dash’s verbal whirlpool this week. Manda is a “culture vulture,” according to Dash.

Anything Involving Jay Z

Understand something, Damon Dash isn’t counting Jay Z’s money, nor does he have any hard feelings towards his old homie. That doesn’t mean he can’t make fun of Hov’s inner circle, or that elevator fight .

Curren$y

This one isn’t exactly a beef per se, more of a money situation that never got resolved. Long story short, Curren$y sued Dash for $1 million, he never received from his record contract. Dash says he’s not really to blame.
