Considering that most rappers who speak about America are largely exercising their freedom of speech in protest, “patriotic” Hip-Hop songs are pretty rare.
But this 4th of July we at Hip-Hop Wired would like to shed light on a select few tunes that convey a sense of support or admiration for America or something pertaining to the good ol’ U.S. of A.

Young Jeezy Ft. Nas, “My President is Black”
When Young Jeezy’s “My President is Black” released back in 2008, the streets went nuts. Mostly because it paid homage to our first Black president, Barack Obama.

Eminem, “Mosh”
Released prior to the 2004 election, “Mosh” is both protest worthy and patriotic. Marshall Mathers details his gripe with then U.S. President George W. Bush and does so with plenty pride.
Yelawolf Ft. Gangsta Boo & Eminem, “Throw It Up”
A lyrical gem, Yelawolf’s “Throw it Up” reps for the South and bigs up American staples like Target, Burger King and K-Mart… #Murica!
Petey Pablo, “Raise Up (USA Flag Remix)”
This should surely be played at your BBQ this weekend. The original version pays homage to Petey’s native North Caronlina. The remix, however, is a tribute to our nation in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy.
