Jake Ballard is in a whole lot of trouble at the moment. He’s being framed for murdering the president’s son.
On last night’s episode of Scandal, Jake kept it cool even though Papa Pope and everyone else is lying about him poisoning the commander in chief’s eldest seed.
Other happenings from the episode were full of twists. Like when Liv and Quinn were spying on Dan Kubiak — a crazy guy who used to do security for Liv’s friend, Catherine Winslow’s husband.
Winslow was arrested for murdering her own daughter (because she was sleeping with the daughter’s boyfriend) . Kubiak killed the daughter’s friend because she had her hands on an important file (and a key, which she swallowed).
Also, The Shade Master (Cyrus) told Liv that her “other boyfriend” killed her married boyfriend’s son. Yikes

Self-Awareness
Fitz still can’t shake the jealousy that’s really driving his need to prove Jake killed his son (by the way, Jake didn’t kill his son).
Trickery
Huck’s wife doesn’t believe all of his spy stories. Yes, he’s been spying on, but that doesn’t mean he’s crazy.
Pressure Cooker
Not even an interrogation, starvation, and a couple punches to the stomach, could get Jake to say he killed Fitz’s son.
Drunk With Envy
Daven Rosen just wants to be respected. Rosen has no real power but he has a good amount of responsibility that turns into sadness. He’s trying to find contentment in alcohol. Maybe he could become Mellie’s drinking buddy?
Confrontations
Abby is mad at Liv for basically ruining everyone’s lives (i.e. Rosen). She softens up when her former boss breaks down and tells her that Jake killed Harrison (Jake did not kill Harrison, by the way).
Truth Juice
Mellie can’t stop drinking because she likes being in an inebriated state. She’s mad that Fitz didn’t come with her to their son’s grave but he was busy trying to crack the murder case.
True Lies
Papa Pope pretends not to know why Jake randomly disappeared, and Liv actually believes him. What’s her problem?
Prion Break
All in all, Jakes seems to be okay with getting framed for murder.
True Detective
Liv won’t stop until she gets answers on the Jake situation. Fitz isn’t having it.
