Like pretty much everything she does, Beyonce’s partnership with Pepsi was an event. Billed as “creative development,” Pepsi paid Bey a handsome $50 million fee.
Other companies shied away from Tiger Woods after his sex scandal, but Nike stood by their $100 Million man. Woods and the legendary equipment and apparel giant re-upped in 2013 for a five-year deal.
As no-brainer partnerships go, one could do a lot worse than Angelina Jolie’s $10 million endorsement deal with Louis Vuitton.
Back when there was something that resembled a competition in the wireless phone market, Catherine Zeta Jones pocketed a cool $20 million to be the face of T-Mobile for four years.
Similar to Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant saw his endorsements take a hit during his 2004 sexual assault trial. But the trial, and Bryant’s eventual settlement, didn’t stop Nike from inking him to a $40 million deal that spanned four years.
Repeated injuries to his lower extremities aren’t doing either party any favors. But for now, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose is reaping the benefits of a 14-year $185 million endorsement deal with adidas.
There’s an obvious joke to be made about Justin Bieber endorsing Wal Mart’s signature nail polish line OPI. But with $12.5 million in hand from the retail giant, Biebs and his accountant are getting the last laugh.
Nike flexed all of its marketing muscle when Under Armour courted NBA MVP Kevin Durant with a $285 million. Ultimately KD stayed with the swoosh as Nike signed Durant to a 10-year $300 million deal.
Tennis stars aren’t generally associated with high-dollar shoe deals, but Roger Federer broke the mold when he signed on with Nike for another 10 years as part of a $130 million contract with Nike.
There’s a reason business reporter Darren Rovel questioned if George Forman had the best deal in the history of sports endorsements. Foreman’s partnership with Salton gave the former boxer 45 percent of all profits. Ultimately Foreman took a buyout for $137.5 million in cash and stock for use of his name in perpetuity.
In 2003, Chrysler paid Celine Dion $14 million as part of an endorsement partnership that featured the French-Candian diva’s music in Chrysler commercials and allowed for prominent Chrysler advertisements on her tour.
Most of us hope for a decent car as a high school graduation gift. Nike signed LeBron James to a seven-year, $90 million deal when he made the transition from a high school senior to an NBA rookie in 2003.
Michael Jordan doesn’t play basketball professionally anymore, but that didn’t stop him from raking in $90 million in 2013 due to his endorsement deal with Nike. Every time another pair of retros hits the shelves, MJ cashes out.
Instead of an annual cash payout, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady asked for a stake in Under Armour stock when he signed with the company in 2010. Given that Under Armour stock is currently up 1.20% and trading at over $70 a share, Brady may end up with one of the most lucrative endorsement deals on this list.
Behind all those quirky interviews, a lot of cash is being made as Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence is set to pull down $20 million in her new partnership as the face of Miss Dior handbags.
