Khujo Goodie

The Goodie Mob member’s right leg was amputated from the knee down after he was involved in a car accident May 2002.

Slick Rick

The Ruler was blinded by broken glass in his right eye as an infant, causing him to sport his famed eye patch.

Bushwick Bill

“Ever So Clear,” a song from Bill’s 1992 albumĀ Little Big Man, detailed a fateful night that occurred a year prior. Drunken onĀ Everclear and suicidal, he asked his then girlfriend to shoot him, which she refused. The couple got into a scuffle soon after, during which the gun when off and Bill accidentally shot his eye out.

The D.O.C.

The famed MC and unparalleled ghostwriter was involved in a near-fatal car accident in November 1989. “He fought the medics when they tried to insert a breathing tube into his trachea, causing it to scar his larynx,” the Dallas Observer reported. As a result, the voice Hip-Hop lovers hear on D.O.C.’s 1989 solo debut, No One Can Do It Better, would never be the same.

Foxy Brown

Life changed for the Brooklyn rapper on the morning of May 23, 2005; it was the same morning as a family member’s funeral, and she was suddenly death. The prognosis was sudden sensorineural hearing loss in both ears.

Brown would undergo surgery the following year, and her hearing began to return.

Kanye West

While living in Los Angeles, West was involved in a near-fatal car accident on October 23, 2002. His jaw, which shattered upon impact, was fixed with reconstructive surgery and wired shut.

50 Cent

The Queens rapper was notoriously shot a whopping nine times, including once in the left cheek, resulting in him losing a wisdom tooth.

Doe B.

Before the fatal shooting that took Doe B’s life in 2013, heĀ was shot at 17-years-old in 2009. He lost his right eye.

Notorious B.I.G.

The walking cane Biggie toted while creating the iconicĀ Life After Death album wasn’t a nod to his developing mafioso, King of New York-inspiredĀ alter-ego “Frank White.” He suffered a shattered left leg in a car accident that temporarily left him in a wheel chair.

Beanie Sigel

Sigel was struck in aĀ December, 5, 2014 shooting in front of a family member’s house in New Jersey. Afterwards, he was listed in critical condition, and it was eventually reported that doctors had to remove a lung.
