Earlier Monday (Mar. 9), tech giant Apple announced for the second time the arrival of its entry into the wearables sweepstakes, the Apple Watch. Naturally, Apple fans and tech fans alike are hoping to learn more about the highly-anticipated device.
So far, there has been leaks and developments of the Apple Watch’s specifications with some outlets providing some deep analysis. Hip-Hop Wired looked at the Apple Watch as well, and the device has the potential to become a blockbuster and game changer despite being a bit late to the party with its nearest rival Samsung already working on its next generation of wearables. It’s Gonna Cost
The prices range from the base model price of $350, to the deluxe model prices allegedly high as $17,000.
Styles Upon Styles
The Apple Watch will come in the base Sport edition, The Apple Watch Collection, and the Apple Watch Edition. The prices bump up significantly in each style.
Accessories Will Add To Price
Although the Sport models start at $349, different band styles will add to the price for more luxurious looks. A plastic band will run you $49, while a link bracelet will run around $449.
Top Apps Coming To The Device
Most experts say that Apple products exist solely for developers to showcase their skills in adapting to its environment. Instagram, Uber, WeChat and other top apps will be optimized for the screen.
What You See Is What You Get
For the three versions, it’s all about the retina display. The watch boasts a density of 290 pixels per inch for 38 mm version and 302 pixels per inch for the slightly larger 42 mm version according to Wikipedia. To add, the 38 mm specs are 21.2 x 26.5 mm, 33.5 mm (1.32 in) diagonally, 272 x 340 pixels, The 42 mm specs are 24.3 x 30.5 mm, 39 mm (1.5 in) diagonally, 312 x 390 pixels
Preloaded With Power
The apps that will come preloaded on the Apple Watch are: Calendar, Alarm, Apple TV, iTunes, Maps, Music, and Passbook, Photos, Remote Camera, Stopwatch and the trusty virtual assistant Siri among others.
Get In The Water
The Apple Watch will be water-resistant up to 30 minutes and up to three feet of water. No word on which watches will have this feature as a standard.
Solid Gold Flow
The most expensive watch in the line will be entirely made of solid gold. The base price for this bad boy is $10,000.
Get Used To Talking To Your Wrist
The Apple Watch is controlled using Siri and will run on the latest Apple iOS that was also announced today.
Ready To Cop?
You’ll have to wait a while as the Apple Watch doesn’t hit the global shelves until April 24. However, Apple stores will allow prospective buyers to try out the device starting April 10.
