Last night (June 21), Mary J. Blige and Budweiser kicked off the summer with the first of its Monument Series of performances at Liberty Island in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty. Fans in attendance were privy to burgers and brew and the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul performing an hour-long set of hits.
Blige performed cuts from her lengthy catalog including favorites “No More Games,” “Be Happy” and “Real Love.”
On Governors Island, Misterwives, Big Gigantic and T-Pain performed before giving way to a 4D hologram of Mary J. Blige’s set over the Hudson River.
Afterwards, on the ferry ride back to Manhattan fans were given a July 4th-worthy fireworks display.
The event served as a preview of the Budweiser Made In America Festival. Check out images from the festivities below and on the following pages.
