A BET Networks freelancer who lived in Maryland, decision to jet to New York City to get a basement butt injection, turned out to be a deadly one. Kelly Mayhew, 34, was ruled dead after being rushed to the hospital when she visited a phony doctor’s house in basement and reportedly began “gurgling and struggling to breathe” after her rear end was pumped with ounces of some sort of silicone.

“The cause of death is systemic silicone emboli due to cosmetic silicone injections of buttocks,” Medical Examiner spokeswoman Julie Bolcer told the NYDailyNews. “The manner of death is homicide.”

On May 30 around 5 p.m., Mayhew was accompanied by her mother when fatal butt injection and she attempted CPR as her daughter’s life began to fade. The “doctor”–whose name hasn’t been released by police–instead decided to make a break for it; grabbing her keys, running out the door, and speeding off in her SUV.

By the time she arrived at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, she was already dead.

Our heart goes out to her family and we extend our deepest sympathies for their loss,” BET spokesman Jamie Owens said in a statement at the time of her death.

Despite the homicide ruling, NYPD tells “no arrests and the investigation is ongoing” for the scrupulous surgeon, who alluded police surrender at the time of the incident.
