A multitude of Hip-Hop stars came out to pay their respect to Albert “Prodigy” Johnson at his funeral yesterday (June 29). Among the A-list MC’s were 50 Cent, LL Cool J and Pete Rock.
A private ceremony was held at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel in Manhattan, followed by a public visitation in the late afternoon for fans to send off the late Hip-Hop legend.
50 Cent and Minister Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam spoke at the funeral. The former signed Mobb Deep to G-Unit Records for a short but memorable stint.
Other rap stars who showed up for P included Remy Ma and Papoose, Maino, Tek of Smif-n-Wessun and of course longtime Mobb Deep affiliates like Twin Gambino, Big Noyd and The Alchemist (big up the Infamous Mobb).
See images from inside and out the memorial below and on the following pages. Rest in power Prodigy.
